Two years after pulling out of the show at the 11th hour Nicki Minaj hits the stage Hot 97’s Summer Jam for a full set. The hip hop star had none of her pop trappings for this stripped down set. No props or crazy costumes for the Queens native this year. Just her DJ, a pink mic and some powerful friends for her turn in fornt of 50,000 Tri-state fans. Young Thug, Lil Herb and Soulja Boy all joined her early on but when her family started showing up the energy in the stadium went to a new level. Especially since she stopped the show to speak her mind.
“It’s a nigga in Young Money that I’m ain’t fucking with right now,” Nicki said. “Drake, I used to love you, but nigga I don’t fuck with you no more.”
At that point the Canadian’s hit “Worst Behavior” started to play. But as the shocked audience tried to grasp her words, Drake bounces on stage to perform letting us know that Nicki was just taking us on a trip on the Troll Train. An embrace complete with wrapped around legs alleviated all worries of a Young Money rift. Lil Wayne quickly joined them to make the cypher complete.
