Royce 5’9”, FKA Royce Da 5’9″, is back with a new video for his song “Tabernacle”. The track is from his forthcoming album Layers which is set to drop April 15th.

“Tabernacle” is an emotionally heavy song that touches on a myriad of themes, including God, addiction, poverty, violence and redemption. Royce 5’9” did an excellent job of making a video that accurately portrays the hardships he went through in life. It starts off in a church, a visual reflection of the religious imagery in the lyrics of “Tabernacle”. The video then follow Royce as he endures some of the toughest times in his life, from growing up in a violence ridden city to dealing with alcoholism at a young age. Both God and music play central themes and act as sources of serenity and hope for Royce. He drags himself out of the pit and rises to become an incredible MC and finally, a father to his newborn son, Royce Jr.

KBX is excited to see what else Royce 5’9” has in store for us. There’s still a month until the new project drops so it’s possible that the rapper will release another single. Keep an eye out for Layers when it drops on April 15th.
