I hate covers! Hate them with an unbridled passion the likes of which the universe has never known. I think its a lazy way to ride on someone else’s heat. That said. I usually will let rappers live though since my love of the game came during an era of dope MC’s hopping on other people’s beats. But the abundance of “struggle” that inhabits the internets has made even that a risky position to hold. So with all that said you have to be coming with some bars for real to get a pass. And this dude Lecks Get It On definitely fits that bill. Been hearing his name for a while and with this refix of Jay and Ye’s hit I can see why. Pretty imaginative the way he uses the letters of the town to break up the opposition. And the assist from FN was a good addition.
The visual feel on this is pretty damn good too. Director JB Sapienza and the DP, Adam Van Vorhis deserve a salute as well.
