I’m very impressed with this video from new artist Newm Nera. “Dreams Passing By” features Elita J and is a part of a collection of singles and videos entitled, “DriveSlowBeSafe” directed by Sebastian Nieves of Seba Films. The video’s haunting film noir styled shots depict Nera traveling through Boston’s MBTA subway system and reminds us of the halcyon days of music videos that were treated like short films between 1994-2000. I was instantly transported to the days of watching “120 Minutes” or “Amp’d” at 2 AM on MTV with a tape on pause in the VCR. I’m also digging the song as well. Don’t sleep on Newm Nera, folks. Salute to Maya Gaul.
