Chaz French Freezes Time In “IDK” Video

Teleport yourself to D.C. – home of el presidente. The city is painted white and the nation’s palace overshadows the daily life of its people. Politicians are in between meetings with other politicians, Abe Lincoln is lounging on marble, and Chaz French is caught in the middle of a lick.

The visuals for Chaz French’s “IDK” video freezes time in high adrenaline situations. His nonchalant attitude normalizes the stick ups, gambling, and beating by the police, while his lyrics scream out his bad experiences. The song from his latest project, These Things Take Time, is a unique call out for what’s currently going on in the capital. Even though the song doesn’t portray itself as a cry for help at face value, when it’s matched with the visuals, the energy of the song takes on a stronger tone. I’m not quite bought on the “pain is over” lyrics, but  even though Chaz is making it through his past hard times, the people in D.C. are still stuck between what the outside world sees, and what’s reality.
