Tory Lanez gets cinematic with his latest video for “LA Confidential”. In between an unexpected robbery and run in with the police, Tory Lanez brings his relationship with his girl to life through some California vibes.
The video consists of an interesting and at times confusing storyline, but it’s a good escape from the typical, flashy music videos we’re at times used to. Without spoiling the visuals, the music video centers in on Tory Lanez as he faces up against different situations. Initially I had thought the ending might have been a cop-out, but after re-watching, I think it’s an interesting fit.
The song itself was cowritten by Miguel, as we can hear how the melodies and sounds aren’t typical of Tory Lanez but instead scream out Wildheart. “LA Confidential’s” California consistency is apparent from the songwriting, to the title, and back to the music video. After much work and a smash in “Say it”, the LA nod could mark a serious turning point for Tory Lanez.
