DJ Guru Sanaal is back at it again with a hot new mix for the upcoming summer months titled “Summer Knights”. Sanaal is known for deftly mixing the new school with the old school and she’s definitely brought that musical sensibility to “Summer Knights”. Some of the tracks are about finding love, about loosing love or don’t have anything to do with love at all but Sanaal combines them all together to form a comprehensive, dope listening experience.
The mix starts off with Solar’s “Silent But Deadly” and is followed by some of our current favorites like Bryson Tiller’s “Ease”, Drake’s “Up All Night” and fitzroy’s remix of Nas’ “You Owe Me”. Sanaal then hits us with the old school R&B tracks that bring up memories of those humid nights where it was just you, your boo and the summer moon. Alicia Key’s “You Don’t Know My Name” and Brandy’s “I Wanna Be Down” make us reminiscence about our first real crushes. R. Kelly’s “Your Body’s Callin” and Jon B’s “Are U Still Down” featuring Tupac remind us of those nights that the deal was sealed with said crushes. The mix ends with one of our favorite tracks from Drake’s new Views, “Controlla”.
