Cee, who has worked with legendary MC’s like Big Daddy Kane and The Notorious B.I.G., announced his departure during his daily show this afternoon. The resignation came shortly after a transsexual prostitute named Bimbo Winehouse released a video (below) with audio that is purported to be Mister Cee hit various gossip sites.

“Due to some personal circumstances that have become public, after 20 years of service, Mr Cee has chosen to resign,” Hot 97 General Manager Alexandra Cameron explained in a statement. “We feel that this is in the best interest of both HOT 97 and Cee’s personal well-being. While we do not endorse the alleged activities, he is clearly facing a personal dilemma that is for him and only him to comment on. We are saddened by his departure; his contributions here at HOT 97 were great and we know him as a friend, a caring individual and significant hip hop advocate. We wish Mr Cee the best and will always consider him a family member of HOT 97.”

Cee explained his departure was due to “hurting the closest people to me; my Hot 97 family….I never want to be in a situation where I’m pushed out. I’ve been at this station for 20 years, since 1993. If I want to go out, allow me to say I’m going out. And the station is allowing me to have that, and I appreciate that.”
