Kitty Cash mixes the soulful modern sound of Lion Babe with some Biggie for the remix of “Jungle Lady” Pt 2. This track will kick off Kitty Cash’s upcoming mixtape “Love The Free, Volume 3”, set to drop this June.
Jillian Hervey’s smoky vocals over the Isley Brother sampled beat is the perfect blend of old-school and new school hip-hop and R&B. Her vocal harmonies beautifully interweave with with the G-Funk synth. Angel Haze joins Lion Babe on the track, giving us life with lines like “And I’m good with the head/ like I’m f*ckin Socrates”. The mix of the old and new emphasizes how present the past is in modern music. Lion Babe, with their electronic, soulful roots, paired with Angel Haze’s flow are examples of how R&B and hip hop have transformed over the years.
Lion Babe will be going on tour, bringing their kinetic live performances to Los Angeles in June before heading to the UK for the Glastonbury Festival on June 25th.
