L.A. Reid becomes Chairman of Epic Records

Epic Records is being restructured and L.A. Reid is the man in charge!

According to The Hollywood Report, “X Factor” judge and former Island Def Jam chairman Antonio “L.A.” Reid is headed over to Sony Music.

Reid will be the chairman of the restructured Epic Label Group, which includes Jive Records.

Epic will be moving on with new signees who include the YouTube sensation Karmin, a duo that became famous for covering songs like “Look At Me Now” by Chris Brown.

Epic will also work with more established artists including Pink and Usher, acts that Reid developed at LaFace.

Reid is expected to take this position right after the 4th of July holiday weekend.
