Boss Lady brings a classic Sound and Style

Media personality Simone “Boss Lady” Amelia rolled out the red carpet at Manhattan Midtown Loft to kick off her first “Sound & Style” series, an innovative display of the successful marriage between the fashion and music industries. Partnered with Reebok Classics, Monster Cable, and Sirius/XM radio, this inaugural celebration was dedicated to displaying an arsenal of emerging femcees while commending the Reebok brand for its ageless reputation throughout the lifespan of Hip Hop. An assortment of refreshments was provided to those in attendance courtesy of Ricardo’s Steakhouse & Hpnotiq.

Among the notables in attendance were Datwon Thomas, Editorial Director of VIBE Magazine and “Low Key” of You Heard That New. People gathered around the encased upcoming Reebok collection displays on the loft’s floor as Simone addressed the crowd with a brief introduction of herself and the night’s events. Shortly after, Atlantic Records signee, “Snow Tha Product” took the stage as one of two featured artists to perform. Poe Boy/Atlantic artist, Brianna The YRB, was the other featured performer.

In between these two marquee acts were four tribute performances to music legends Salt N Pepa, Queen Latifah, Monie Love, Lauryn Hill, Lil Kim, and many more. Audra The Rapper & Nyemiah Supreme performed a duo tribute, as did Nina B & Jasmine Solano. The remaining artists, Dai Burger & Gypsi, performed solo acts. Amelia returned to the stage following these performances to announce the first ever all-female cypher before the night’s events concluded. Lady Luck, New Jersey veteran MC, kicked off the lyrical showcase. The night’s featured artists provided their lyrical contributions over an array of instrumentals.

Simultaneous gift distribution and last minute photo opportunities concluded the night’s festivities. Special thanks went out to Amelia’s additional sponsors and partners L’OREAL, Women On The Move, Dr. Jay’s, iPOP, and Boss Lady TV.

Simone explained to Killer Boom Box how she built the relationship with Reebok. “Reebok was looking for a woman to speak at their Reebok Classic campaign for ladies. I was recommended as positive woman, and it’s been love at first sight between myself and the brand. Big things are happening and I am very blessed.”
