The views from Drake’s position in the rap game must be amazing.

Apparently the time-gap between Nothing Was The Same and Views has allowed Drake to restrategize his approach and take his promotional efforts to another level. With just about over a million copies of his latest album sold and a number one track in the United States with “One Dance”, the rapper has reached many firsts this go around.

Although this won’t be the first time Drake has seen the number 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100, by substituting Desiigner’s “Panda” Drake reaches is first number record as the lead artist. And while his album sales for NWTS was by no measure a failure, his 1,04 million copies of Views nearly double the sales for the clear-blue sky covered project.

We’ve all been watching Drake’s journey unfold from wheel-chair Jimmy to the man standing high above the world in respect to music. And as more information comes out about his BBK deal with Skepta, it should be interesting how this grandiose success translates internationally.
