Kanye’s latest album was influential on several different levels. Not only did it shutdown the music world and seem to have calmed Kanye’s insanity, but it also helped bring Desiigner’s “Panda” hit number one on Billboard’s Hot 100.
The “Panda” movement has really swept the nation through these past months, and with the Future comparisons continuing to roll in, this top placement on Billboard tells us several things. It first let’s us know what a Kanye cosign can help achieve. “Panda’s” role on “Father Stretch My Hands Part 2” was by no means un-strategized plan for both parties, and it definitely helped progress the track. Secondly, we now know what Future hasn’t achieved. Future makes great music, he’s extremely successful, but hasn’t made a hit that’s shook the nets like Desiigner. Now, we can explain this through different reasons – we might say that Future hasn’t created a hit as powerful, or, maybe he just isn’t as marketable on a commercial level.
None of this takes away from Future’s success, but as we see Desiigner take success for a sound curated by Future, the music scene looks at Future to see what his response is.
