Boston rapper Token recently spat pure fire on Sway’s “Friday Fire Cypher”. The 15 minute long video starts off with a short interview where Token explains the origins of his stage name and what inspires him to continue his path in the Hip-Hop industry. Around 7 minutes into the video, the rapper goes in for nearly six minutes and absolutely destroys his freestyle. Rappers Cash Sinatra and Passport Louis also delivered their own great freestyles.
The amazing thing about Token and his lyrical flow is that its not only effortless but incredibly well worded. Imbibing his freestyle with metaphors and clever wordplay, Token shows Sway and the team exactly why he deserves to be on the show and shows us why he’s one of the hottest up and coming rappers in the game right now. It’s insane that Token wasn’t on the list of potential XXL 2016 Freshman with other Boston artists like Dutch Rebelle, BIA and Cousin Stizz- hopefully next year, Token will get his chance.
