Most associate Xzibit with the classic MTV show “Pimp My Ride”, but don’t let his bars go past you. The OG has been putting in work for years, and it’s only right he link up with the young guns to shed some light.
His latest feature comes for Bishop Lamont, a former protege of Dr. Dre himself. It’s not the first two work together, but both artists bring some major heat on “Back Up Off Me”, and the visuals only enhance that strength. Through the smoke and high energy we see the two artists aggressively attack the beat, and the Bishop Lamont vs. Xzibit rap-battle simulation is very representative of the current state of music. Although Bishop Lamont has been putting in his due diligence for quite some time, the continuation of his rise will always be compared to those who have come before him, and it’s good to see him fully embrace that.
