Ella Eyre Takes Her Soulful Sound Worldwide

KBX’s Bout To Know series goes to the U.K. for this nest edition with Ella Eyre. Designed to tell you who The Killer Crew believes will be buzzing in the blogosphere in the coming year, Bout To Know is where you will learn about your next favorite artists.

Ella Eyre first appeared on my radar when she was featured on Rudimental’s 2013 LP “Home”. The single “Waiting All Night” became a hit and her live performances further pushed the song further. She released the single “Deeper” from her “Deeper EP” in December 2013 which further raised anticipation for her solo album. In 2014, she released the singles “If I Go” and “Comeback” as a prelude to winning the Best Newcomer award at the 2014 MOBO Awards beating out FKA Twigs, MNEK & Raleigh Ritchie. Her soulful vocals and her songwriting ability (she’s the co-writer of Sigma’s single “Changing” which features Paloma Faith) have helped to further raise her profile. Ella Eyre’s long awaited solo debut “Feline” is set to be released on May 4th, 2015.

While Ella Eyre has quite a devoted following in Europe, it’s going to take music journalists that have been paying attention since 2013 to spread the gospel and raise awareness about her. After the album drops, I’m sure there will be a gang of people raving about it but I’ll be all like… “I wrote about her for KillerBoomBox months before the album dropped so I’m cooler than you are”. In any event? You can count on Ella Eyre becoming an artist you’re all about to know. You’re welcome…
