“We did it Brooklyn!” – Biggie Smalls
In a move that will make his hometown proud, Jay Z announced on Good Day NY this morning that the Nets basketball franchise will be named the “Brooklyn Nets” when they move into their new Brooklyn arena. With Jay’s close connection with the burrough and minority ownership in the team, speculation on the franchise’s name was heavy. In addition he will be opening the Barclay Center in Brooklyn with a series of concerts with the first on September 28, 2012. Check the video below.
