T.I Is Back With New Single “Money Talks” Ft. DJ Whoo Kid And DJ MLK

TIP-Money Talk-Art-Single

T.I freed up his banging new single “Money Talk”. DJ Whoo Kid and DJ MLK premiered the track on Shade 45 this morning to rave reviews from fans and music lovers alike. We weren’t sure if we’d hear new music from Tip after his departure from Columbia Records this past October but apparently the rapper wasted no time getting back and at it in the studio. The single is from his upcoming album, The Dime Trap, set to drop sometime this year- this will be T.I’s first album since leaving Columbia Records so it’ll be exciting to see what The Dime Trap has in store.

“Money Talk” is a return to T.I’s Southern hip hop/ trap roots. The beat is simple and straightforward- you’ve got the classic trap style staccato-ed hi hats and snares. Surprisingly, there’s no abundance of heavy 808s, just some deep kicks and claps with cool melodic synths floating on top of the beat. The lyrics of “Money Talk” are all about Tip reasserting his status as one of the original gangster rappers of the South. He reminds the rappers of today “… don’t forget what I taught y’all/ I put the fear of God in ya” and reminds us that talk is cheap because a “Lotta niggas talk/ but y’all don’t never get paid…”.

Overall, “Money Talk” is the song we expected from T.I when he returned to his music. He hasn’t confirmed exactly when The Dime Trap will drop this year but hopefully he’ll release more tracks from the upcoming album soon. In the meantime, lean your hat to the side like T.I and check out “Money Talk” below.
