Today, I feel like how Chris Christie looks. Saddened and genuinely shocked by the Massachusetts GOP vote. How someone who spews such hate and fear mongering wins like that is beyond me. How, Sway? Now I am legit worried about how things will go down come November.
When I’m feeling down in the dumps, you know what makes me feel better? Music. If I’m feeling blue, I’ll listen to songs with moody tones or lyrics (see Raury’s “Home”, Tom Misch’s “Valley”). If I’m feeling on edge, I listen to ish that thumps (ex. Eddie Braveaux’s remix to Crime Mob’s “Knuck If You Buck” or M.I.A.’s “Boom ADD”). If I’m zoning and just want to tune the world out, I’ll listen to instrumentals (KA-YU’s “Flower”, Nehzuil’s “Can You Feel Me”). Sometimes, I just wanted to be fed and told I look pretty (in that order). Sorry, there is no song for that.
In conclusion, America, please don’t let Voldemort win. There isn’t enough music in the world to fix that.
