This week has been a great one for jazz/electronic music. As some of you know, Terrance Martin has been dropping singles from his upcoming album, Velvet Portraits, set to be released early next month. I love that everything I’ve heard so far is different from the next. The latest is “Think of You”, which features saxophonist Kamasi Washington, and the smooth vocals of Rose Gold.
I also want you to check out Geotheory’s Gran Turismo. The percussion-heavy track is amazing. It’s like if 4Hero produced the soundtrack to your favorite video games. StaRo also had video games on his mind as he dropped an electro-ode to Super Mario with “Milk”.
Glass’s “Fly High” is another standout track. The sweet tempting voice over lush instrumentals is very reminiscent of Flume. Speaking of sweet and tempting, peep Beya Likhari’s “Call Me” and Angelica Vila’s “Making up my Mind”.
