Long before veteran DJ and radio programming executive Geoff ‘Geespin’ Gamere (@Geespin) left the media powerhouse iHeart for the greener pastures of mega-talent agency UTA, he was the creator and host of JAMN 94.5’s showcase for the Hip Hop’s next wave from Boston and beyond. The mixshow, still on air today, became a mandatory stop for MC’s on the rise with interviews, exclusive debuts and most importantly freestyles.

The architect of The Breakfast Club hasn’t forgotten his roots as a DJ. Gee has gone into his archives to pull together some of the show’s highlights for Best Of Launch Pad Vol 1 (2002 – 2009. Pulled from the beginnings of the show, Gee gives us a look at just exactly what was shaking on the radio in that era.

Launch Pad mixed the hot joints about to go with the best that the city had to offer. This first volume is a perfect example of that. Boston favorites like Dre Robinson, Frankie Wainwright and Smoke Bulga are right alongside the Fabolous and Jadakisses of the world.
