Pop culture continues to have a big influence on the youth. From dressing like our favorite rappers to speaking like them, the younger generations really pay attention to how the faces of our culture move. And so when news comes out that one of the most famous and successful singers in the game currently has launched a scholarship program, the kids make note.

Rihanna’s new program aims to aid students from Barbados, Brazil, Cuba, Haiti, Guyana, Jamaica, or the U.S. with need/aid based scholarships. In order to receive the $5,000 to $50,000 scholarship, applicants of her program must reside from one of the respective places and have been accepted into a 4-year College or University within the United States for the year 2016-2017.

The scholarship program falls under Rihanna’s non-profit called the Clara Lionel Foundation, and more information can be found on her site here.
