Phife Dawg Tributes Continue & New Content Is Released

Phife

The Phife Dawg tributes continue to pour out as we mourn the loss of a rap icon.

Last night hundreds attended a celebration for the late Phife Dawg in New York’s Apollo Theatre, which included homage from  other rap legends such as Kanye West, Chuck D, and Busta Rhymes.

One of the rappers who took the podium during the ceremony was Andre 3000, who gave an unplanned speech on the influence A Tribe Called Quest was for Outkast. He went on to explain how Outkast structured their image around the inspirational trio, and at one point were even in conversation with the Tribe about planning A Tribe Called Quest & Outkast album.

Although that of course never happened, we were lucky enough to hear some new music from Phife within the past 24 hours as his family released content dedicated towards the album he was working on prior to his death, called “Give Thanks”.

We give thanks to Phife and the music he brought to the world.

RIP Phife.
