Kanye West has been on a pretty good roll as of late. Performances at All-Star weekend, the debut of his new sneakers and a performance at Saturday Night Live’s 40 anniversary show were among the highlights. Now a much less confrontational hour long sit down with Charlamagne, Angela Yee and DJ Envy on New York’s Power 105.1 might be considered the latest part of two week’s worth of win for the controversial artist. West was pretty open during his time with The Breakfast Club and discussed everything from his recent dinner with Taylor Swift to his recently mended relationship with former mentor Dame Dash. He explained that Dash was key in his career and that the pair are working together again.
“He presented me to the world, I wouldn’t have a record deal if it wasn’t for Dame Dash… “We creating something new now in the fashion world and in the film world.”
Kanye is working on presenting some new music and explained that he is about 80% done with his new project. And the new solo music isn’t the end of the road. Yeezy spoke on the possibility of collab album with Drake.
“I’m just going to go along and say because maybe this will promote it happening but the “Wolves” song came from a conversation that me and Drake had, where we were going to do an album together and the album is called Wolves.”
West also took a jab at ex-girlfriend Amber Rose. Rose had been critical of Kim Kardashian’s younger sister Kylie Jenner’s relationship with Tyga.
“Kylie’s a baby,” Rose told The Breakfast Club. “She needs to go to bed at 7 o’clock and relax. It’s ridiculous. Tyga should be ashamed of himself. That’s how I feel, for sure. He has a beautiful woman and a baby that he left for a 16-year-old who just turned 17.” Rose is friends with Tyga’s ex Blac Chyna who was formally managed by Kim Kardashian’s mother Kris Jenner.
Ye let his kinder, gentler demeanor down for a minute and fired back. “It’s very hard for a woman to wanna be with someone that’s with Amber Rose. I had to take thirty showers before I got with Kim,” he told Charlamagne. “If Kim wanted to date me when I wanted, there wouldn’t be an Amber Rose.”
When asked about Tyga and Kylie being appropriate he “I think he got in early, I think he was smart. They are closer in age than a lot of relationships that I know. I knew Tyga was smart,” said Kanye. The whole bit about Tyga getting in early with a 17-year-old Kylie Jenner is more than a bit weak though. Check out the full interview above.
