Mel Carter Previews New Project Popular Stranger in NYC

Last night Mel Carter [Jay-Z’s nephew] premiered his new project, Popular Stranger, to a full house at NYC’s Quad Studios. His team was in full promotional effect, wearing shirts bearing a combination of his logo, his album title, and his twitter handle.

Building momentum for himself, Popular Stranger finds Mel attacking the beats with a seamless delivery and polished lyrics similar to his uncle’s flows but with his own twist. Some of the popular tracks for the night included ‘100 Miles’, ‘H.Y.G.I. (How You Get It)’, and ‘Miseducated Interlude’. Mostly produced by J. Dot, he had minimal features.

Last month we spoke him gearing up for this release and now it’s finally here. Check out our interview here and some of the pictures from the event. Listen to his new mixtape below.
