Massachusetts native Marcela Cruz teamed up with JAM’N 94.5’s DJ Jaz to drop “The Remix Series Mixtape”, a catchy combination of covers, remixes and original tracks. The talented songstress has been on the music scene for quite some time (KBX has been following her since 2013) and her experience shows in her ability to take covers and remixes and make them her own. The mixtape is a perfect display of Cruz’s vocal abilities and versatility as she goes from singing slow R&B like Beyonce’s “I Miss You” to Samantha J’s reggae hit “Bad Like Yuh”. The best part of the mixtape is that it showcases Cruz’s original songs like “No Take Backs” and “Stuck on You”- listeners can really get to know who Cruz is as an artist, despite the fact that it’s technically a remix mixtape.
