Air Jordan Retro III OG ’88 Releases on Feb. 6

It’s confirmed that the Air Jordan Retro III ‘88s are to be released Wednesday, February 6, 2013. Unfortunately, not every sneakerhead will be satisfied, as these are extremely limited and have been deemed one of the highest anticipated sneakers of the year. Some have even compared these to the Ray Allen PE Retro 13s, which released in 2011, and now sells on places like Flight Club for nearly a thousand dollars.

What makes these 3s such a big deal? They’re being released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest where Jordan premiered the pair. Additionally, this release features the original Nike logo on the heel, rather than the Jumpman sign seen on the modern colorways.

Therefore, Nike’s decided to keep these kicks out of stores and sell them exclusively online. At 4:51 p.m. ET, the Nike Store Twitter account will tweet a link where you will then purchase the shoes retailing for $200. Check the sneaker’s debut below.
