A TRIBE CALLED QUEST & MARY J BLIGE WILL BE INDUCTED INTO THE ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME

A Tribe Called Quest, comprising Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and Jarobi White, will finally be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on their third nomination attempt. Widely regarded as one of the greatest hip hop groups of all time, ATCQ released six acclaimed albums, including People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm (1990), The Low End Theory (1991), Midnight Marauders (1993), Beats, Rhymes and Life (1996), The Love Movement (1998), and We Got It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service (2016), all achieving Gold or Platinum status [2].

Phife Dawg, born Malik Izaak Taylor, sadly passed away on March 22, 2016, due to complications from diabetes [3]. A Tribe Called Quest becomes the eleventh hip hop act to join the esteemed Hall of Fame, following iconic names like Missy Elliott, Eminem, Jay-Z, LL Cool J, and The Notorious B.I.G. [5].

In addition to ATCQ, another legendary New Yorker, Mary J Blige, will also be inducted in 2024. Known as the “Queen of Hip Hop Soul,” Blige boasts a career adorned with numerous awards and accolades, having released 14 studio albums and sold over 100 million records worldwide [5].

The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for October 19 at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, OH, where ATCQ, Mary J Blige, and other esteemed artists will be honored
