Moxiie Is No Dreamgirl On New Single “FVRS”

Moxiie-FVRS

Moxiie has got us absolutely entranced in 2016. The Haitian-American singer has an ethereal falsetto and the dreamy production behind her tracks turn her songs into an existential exploration into a place between reality and dreaming. Moxiie’s foray into her upper register and falsetto reminds us a little of the breathless vocals of FKA Twigs though Moxiie’s sound is most definitely a unique listening experience- her latest single, “FVRS” is a continuation of this unique sound.

“FVRS” is one of those tracks that may sound lighthearted but is actually heavy with emotional turmoil. Fredro “Fredrik” Odesjo did a dope job on the production by creating an aural dreamland for Moxiie’s vocals. In the song, Moxiie lets her lover know that she’s no dream girl or fantasy and she is, as most of us are, broken in some ways. In a short statement about “FVRS”, she says “It’s about owning what I want and who I am, good and bad. I’m telling this guy not to try to mold me…” She promises him “for tonight…I’m doing all the favors you like”- for just one night, she’ll be willing to fulfill whatever fantasies he has of her.

Listen to “FVRS” below and make sure to follow Moxiie via her SoundCloud. We’re definitely looking forward to hearing more from the New York born singer this summer.
