As Nicki Minaj’s Pinkprint promo run continues, the rapper is pulling back the curtain on her personal life. Yesterday (Dec.17) she stopped by Power 105 to talk with the voice of New York, Angie Martinez about her latest album. The Queens rapper has been notoriously private about her private life but in the light of her recent break up with long time boyfriend Safaree “ScaffBeezy” Samuels she spoke about her newly single life. At one point they stopped the interview so the rapper could compose herself after starting to tear up as she discussed her relationship status. While the world may see this as just another celebrity relationship gone off the rails, Nicki explained that her 12-year love with Samuels was deeper than rap.
“I don’t think people realize it’s not just a relationship or breakup. That was a humongous part of my life,” Nicki explained. “It is something that I am dealing with publicly and it’s not easy. I’m also not gonna joke about it or try to disrespect him and try to act like he didn’t mean the world to me and still doesn’t mean the world to me. I’m just figuring it out.”
