Treva Holmes Brings Sexy Back With New Single “Agree”

Young Treva Holmes is back and at it with his second single “Agree” from his upcoming album. The last time we heard from Treva was in February when he dropped “You Got My Soul”, a slow love banger filled to the brim with harmonies. The Boston native shows us the other side of the coin with “Agree”.

While “You Got My Soul” was sexy, it was an intimate track about getting back the one that got away. “Agree” is just as catchy as its predecessor but way more carnal and has less to do with love and more to do with “getting it in”. The production by Marco Marcel is top notch (he produced another track KBX covered “#FMX”), providing an intricate balance of plush 808s, sharp hi hats and snares that cut through the soft wavy synths. Treva’s vocals sit perfectly on top of the beat as he asks his lover “I can feel the vibe/ Don’t you agree?”. He isn’t afraid to get explicitly visual with his lyrics which takes the track to a whole new level of sexiness that’s sure to have the ladies hooked. Even if you aren’t a woman, “Agree” should be an essential component of your playlist for its musicality alone.

There’s no denying the collaboration that went in between the producer and the artist on “Agree”. In a day and age where a lot of artists merely buy a beat, put their vocals on top and get it mixed and mastered, it’s refreshing to see an in-depth entwining of all of the elements of the song, from the music to the lyrics. Things like the ticking clock at 1:41 as Treva sings “Please don’t waste a n*gga’s time” and the timing of the drops are simple but clear indicators of the teamwork that went into the track.

Treva Holmes has an upcoming performance on April 1st at The MET in Rhode Island- if you can catch him live, usually with a full band backing him up, you’re in for a show. You can keep up with him via his Facebook page and SoundCloud to stay up to date on any new releases.
